William (Bill) A. Dwyer, 58, of North Wales, Pa. died in his home Wednesday November 9, 2016. Born to William (Bill) Bonner Dwyer and Mary Teresa (O'Hara) March 4, 1958 in Drexel Hill, Pa., Bill grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pa. before attending Villanova University and building a career in restaurant and personnel management.
Bill lived a life of selflessness with commitments to his family, friends and his community. He spent much of his life devoted to his kids, Villanova Wildcat athletics, the Philadelphia Eagles, and coaching and officiating CYO basketball. Bill was a devout catholic and a valued member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a true leader, expected accountability, and an inherent problem solver. He was always the first to look for a solution or lend a helping hand to someone in need, friend or stranger.
Bill is preceded in death by his father William, his mother Mary Teresa, his uncle Jerry, aunt Eileen, uncle Jack, and cousin Andrew. He is survived by his children Shayne, Ryan, and Shannon, his former wife Wendi Dwyer (nee McDaniel), devoted friend Cathy Spencer, sisters Mary Beth (Gerard) Ranieri, Anne (Dwight) Cyliax, Jeannie (Bill) Brandt, and 12 nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday November 18, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. at Angelone Funeral Home 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, Pa. 19090 and Saturday November 19, 2016 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Bill's parish, Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, Pa 19454, with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Shannon Dwyer Care Fund, c/o TD Bank 918 Bethlehem Pike Montgomeryville, Pa. 18936.
