Obituary

Salvatore DiLisio formerly of Philadelphia and Hatfield, passed away on September 25, 2023 at Grandview Hospital. Born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia on April 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Teresa DiLisio. He attended and graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic Grammar School, and attended and graduated from North Catholic High School. Afterwards, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four (4) years. One of those years was served in Korea, on Osan Air Force Base. After his Honorable Discharge, from the U.S. Air Force, he attended Temple University receiving his Engineering Technical Degree, he also attended LaSalle University for 2 years majoring in Industrial Management.

He worked 3 years for RCA in Moorestown, N.J., and 32 years for Honeywell Inc., in Fort Washington, Pa., in their Engineering Research Department, Analog Engineering and Panels Systems Department, he also worked in Honeywell's Systems Engineering Department, and Honeywell Manufacturing Engineering Systems Department.

Sal and his family moved to Hatfield, PA., in 1971, he volunteered and became involved with the community Hatfield Little League and Hatfield Connie Mack baseball leagues for 12 years. He was also involved in Local Politics, and was an elected Hatfield Borough Councilman for 22 years. During this time, he served 8 years as President of Hatfield Borough Council, and 2 years as Vice President Hatfield Borough Council, and he also served on numerous borough committees. He enjoyed playing Friday Night Softball Games with his friends and co-workers, and playing Golf with his retired friends from Honeywell.

He was a parishioner of Saint Maria Goretti, Roman Catholic Church in Hatfield, he was a Greeter, and a Usher at the 7:30 A.M. Sunday Mass.

Sal leaves behind his wife Connie, his sons Sam and Paul DiLisio, his daughter Laurie McMasters, daughter in laws Dina DiLisio and Sonia DiLisio, son in law Steve McMasters, three Grandchildren Bryan (Serena) McMasters, Autumn (Keith) Reider, and Isabella DiLisio, a great granddaughter Olivia Reider, and a sister Anna Marie Mierson; pre-deceased by his 2 brothers Vincent and Frank DiLisio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 am., followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am., at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA  19440. Interment and Military Honors to take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
