Obituary

Phyllis Dixon left this world surrounded by family on January 31, 2025, but not before filling it with laughter, love, and a touch of rebellious fun. Born in Philadelphia on October 10, 1959, Phyllis was the undisputed Birthday Queen, treating each celebration like the most important event of the year. She had a gift for making any gathering special, whether by surprising someone with a decorated lawn, crafting the perfect party favors, or creating wedding decorations that added a touch of whimsy and love. If there was a reason to celebrate, Phyllis was always ready—often with a tray of jello shots, a pitcher of homemade margaritas, or a life-size cutout of the guest of honor. She made people feel special in ways big and small, bringing creativity and joy to every occasion. But more than her love of a good party, Phyllis had a kind and generous heart. She valued her relationships and made the effort to stay connected with friends and family, never judging, and always welcoming.

At the heart of her life was her husband, Kevin, her high school sweetheart and unwavering partner. From the moment they met, they were inseparable. Kevin often referred to Phyllis as his "ride or die," which perfectly captured their deep loyalty and devotion to each other. Whether they were tackling projects or simply enjoying their home together, their bond was unshakable.

Phyllis's greatest pride was her loving daughter, Bonnie. She loved nothing more than watching Bonnie build a beautiful life, frequently bragging about her accomplishments to anyone who would listen. Phyllis's greatest joy was being "Mom Mom" to her grandchildren—Emma, Mia, and Brent—who were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment with them, showering them with love, laughter, and a little bit of mischief.

Though she is gone, Phyllis' warmth and fun-loving spirit will be carried on by all who knew her.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Kevin; her daughter, Bonnie (Matthew) Sauermelch; her grandchildren Emma, Mia, and Brent; her siblings Jeannie (late Wayne) Metzinger, Cindy (Bryan) Sheehan, Albert (Ann) Rivera, and William Balentine; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is reunited with her parents, John and Madeline DiBrino (nee Petro), as well as her brother Johnny DiBrino, and sister Doreen (Kelly) Barton.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at her viewing on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Ave., Ardsley, PA 19038. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
