Philippina A.
Rizzo
Aug 14, 1941 — Mar 4, 2025
Philippina A. Rizzo of Red Hill, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born and raised in the Germantown section of northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to her late parents, Frank & Nancy Scorza. Philippina graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. After high school she attended cosmetology school to become a beautician. Philippina held various jobs throughout her career. She worked for many years as a Caregiver at St. Mary's Nursing Home and caring for babies at a Day Care in Lansdale, PA. She also worked in high end restaurants as a server. Her final job was spent working for Merck in West Point, PA. beginning in the maintenance department and working her way up through the Manufacturing Lines filling bottles.
Philippina was a devout Roman Catholic giving and donating to charities, praying for her family, friends, others, and saying the Holy Rosary. She enjoyed cooking and especially cooking for anyone that entered her home. There was always plenty of food provided on her table no matter how many were present. For those who would randomly drop in for a visit, she always planned and made sure that she had baked cakes and desserts available. She wanted all to feel welcomed and loved. She also started crocheting after retirement and made various blankets to give to others.
Philippina is survived by her children Angela Patterson, Gina Pucci, and Anthony Rizzo; son-in-Law, Stephen Patterson; grandson, Collin Patterson; granddaughters, Brooke & Lauren Patterson; sister, Nancy Tresnan, and many nephews and nieces that loved her dearly.
