Pasquale A.
Stellacio
May 18, 1934 — Apr 5, 2019
Pasquale Albert Stellacio, 84, of Glenside, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died April 5, 2019 at Abington Memorial Hospital. Albert was born in Philadelphia to loving parents, Charles and Madelena (Giranda) Stellacio. He is survived by his sister Gloria Volpe (Joseph, Jr.), In addition to his sister he is survived by his niece and God-daughter Kristina (Volpe) Focht (Frank Pearson),
nephew Joseph Volpe III (Cindy), Great-nephew Tyler Focht, Great-nieces Devon Volpe, Amanda Focht and Loren Volpe. He was preceded in death by his parents and Great-niece Karen Volpe.
Albert grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia where he attended Germantown High School (Class of 1952) completing an industrial studies curriculum. Albert joined the Army shortly after high school and served from 1955-1957 and was stationed in Germany. He was proud of his service and spoke fondly of his memories of Berlin and his army friends. He returned to the states in late 1956 due to the declining health of his mother. Thereafter, he began a lifelong career with Sears Roebuck & Co in their Packaging and Shipping Department where he retired in 1990 after almost 40 years of service.
Pasquale enjoyed visits to the jersey shore and cherished a cottage he had once owned in Ocean City, NJ. He was known to grow huge tomatoes, peppers and other garden vegetables along with plenty of apples and peaches from his trees, which he gave away to his family and church.
Albert lived a quiet, humble life with his days spent keeping up on the stock market and current events. He enjoyed a good glass of wine and had the will power to resist desserts, except for pizzelles.
Pasquale was a faithful brother, a wonderful uncle and loving godfather. He touched many lives and his quirky comments and actions kept his family smiling. We will live by his well-spoken retort,"you do what you gotta do".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am., followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am., at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 2316 Fairhill Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
