Obituary

Michael J. Ginley, 66, formerly of Lansdale and Roslyn, PA, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at his residence. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Marion (Collins) and Daniel L. Ginley, Sr.. A Vietnam Veteran, Michael served his country from 1967-1971 with the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant with the Green Berets. He had two tours of duty to Vietnam; the first tour specializing in radio communications and repair; in the second tour he was involved in many combat missions. His entire family was very proud of his service. He was recently awarded a Certification of Appreciation from the department of Veteran Affairs for his willingness to help others. He is survived by his beloved sister, Anne Yerkes and her husband John; his "second mom", Mary Yerkes; nephews, Joshua (Lori) Yerkes and Justin (Melissa) Yerkes; niece, Christa (Nick) Martin; and his great nieces and nephews, Brittany and Dylan Weaver, Brynley and Brody Yerkes, and Alyssa Martin; aunts, uncles, numerous cousins; dear friend, Willy Klinnert and family; and his feline buddy, Spooky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel L. Ginley Jr.. Services will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, PA 17003, on Monday, October 3, 2015 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, American Heart Association, Vietnam Veterans Association, VFW, or Wounded Warriors Project.
