Margaret "Jeannie"
Daley
Aug 5, 1943 — Dec 30, 2020
Jeannie Daley Obituary Daley Margaret (Jeannie) Age 77, Passed peacefully on December 30, 2020 from colon cancer. A 37-year resident of Inglis House on Belmont Avenue in Philadelphia, Jeannie loved greeting everyone from the doorway of her 3 South room as they entered & exited the elevator. Cruising the hallways in her wheelchair to visit fellow residents and staff, singing in the Christmas choir, and participating in the annual Alice Keen Memorial Games (winning many medals) were but a few of her favorite things to do at Inglis.
A graduate of the Widener School, Jeannie did not let her cerebral palsy slow her down or stop her from always being cheerful and positive. She loved basketball and enjoyed going to 76ers, St. Joe's, Temple & Villanova games with her cousin Bob, his wife Beth, and their children: Sarah, Emily, Madeleine, Bobby, and Aubrey. Jeannie loved family gatherings (especially the July 4th parties) with her cousin Dud, his wife Mary, cousin Franny, his wife Pat and cousin Dee and her family. Jeannie's cousin Lynda and her husband Dave along with their children: David, Nikki, Lindsey, and Jess always enjoyed seeing Jeannie at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cousin Tom did not see Jeannie a lot but enjoyed talking with her on the phone. Jeannie loved an occasional whiskey & ginger ale and could not resist cookies, candy, and cake. Jeannie also enjoyed visits to Ocean City; strolling down the boardwalk, smelling the sea air, and eating Mack-n-Mancos pizza.
Jeannie never complained about her ailments and was loved very much by her family along with friends and staff members at Inglis; many who knew her 20, 25 or 30+ years. She is predeceased by her beloved Mother Margaret (Peg), Father Michael (Mickey) and cousins Dud, Dee, and Franny.
A private celebration of Jeannie's life will be held at Angelone Funeral Home in Willow Grove. A Memorial Service will be held at Inglis House at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Inglis House, 2600 Belmont Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa 19131
