Joanne M. Galante "Jenny", age 88, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at her home in Erdenheim, PA. Jenny was the daughter of the late Angelo Rizzo and Mary Rizzo. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John "Jack" J. Galante who passed away in 2011.
Jenny was a long-time resident of Erdenheim, PA. She and her husband moved to Erdenheim in 1964 where they raised their four children. Above all Jenny's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
Born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Jenny graduated from Little Flower High School. After graduation, Jenny began working as a secretary. She married Jack in 1956, and moved to Chestnut Hill, PA where they began to start a family. Jenny was a long-time member of St. Genevieve's Church, Flourtown, PA.
Jenny enjoyed summer vacations with family and in-laws in Wildwood, NJ. She also loved spending time at the Flourtown swim club. As a hobby, Jenny was an avid bowler. Her hobby began at Flourtown Lanes. Every year Jenny looked forward to her annual bowling luncheon where she consistently took home many prizes for high game, high series etc. Later in life Jenny developed a love for travel. She met a tight-knit group of girlfriends who traveled to dude ranches, Dollywood, Savannah, GA to name a few. Some of her friends predeceased her and she dearly missed them everyday.
Jenny was very proud of her Italian heritage and showed it by cooking the most amazing dishes. During holidays she only cared that her family was well fed and happy. She never disappointed. Jenny adored her nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. They were the love of her life.
Jenny is survived by her loving children, Carole Concannon (the late Thomas Concannon) of Erdenheim, PA; Mary Beth Giovinazzo (Paul) of Ambler, PA; Jack Galante (Lisa) of Chalfont, PA; and Joanne Galante (the late James Cammarota) of Erdenheim, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas, Rachel, Nicholas, Marissa, Jaclyn, Gabriella, Emma, James, Jonathan, and great grandchild, Juliana. Also survived by her brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at St. Genevieve's Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Visitation will be followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM. There will be no interment.
Jenny will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
