Joan T.
Catrambone
Jun 5, 1932 — Sep 21, 2021
Joan Theresa Catrambone, 89, of Ambler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. Joan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Born and raised in Kensington, PA, Joan was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel Pisano.
Joan was the beloved wife of Dominic who passed away in 1999. They shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Joan and Dom met while working in Center City. They married May 12, 1956 and resided in Mayfair for 10 years. They moved to Hideaway Hills in Ambler, where jokingly she often reminded Dom of moving her to the middle of nowhere. Joan quickly grew to love life in the "country" as she called it.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Wendy Bradley (Paul), her son, Dominic (Jennifer), and six adoring grandchildren; JP Bradley, Chadd Catrambone, Ryan Bradley, Amanda Bradley, Cassidy Catrambone and Devon Catrambone. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Pisano. She is predeceased by her brother, Joseph and sister, Mary. Joan was also loved by a large extended family and friends she deeply cherished.
Joan attended Hallahan High School where she was very studious and she loved the theater.
After high school, Joan began her career first in the banking industry. She later worked for Gwynedd Mercy College in Public Affairs and finished her career at McNeil Pharmaceuticals in Spring House, retiring in 1995. Joan was well loved and respected by all in her professional life.
Although Joan loved her career, her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. She was enthusiastically involved in many social activities including Hideaway Hills block parties, dinner dances and coffee clutches, where she established life-long friendships with neighbors along the way. She was also extremely involved in her children's schools, running Christmas bazaars, Mother's Club and driving kids to and from sporting events. It wasn't uncommon to see Joan running up and down the sidelines giving encouragement to her children playing on the field. Her same enthusiasm continued with the grandchildren as she enjoyed supporting them in their interests as well.
Mary Mother of the Redeemer was Joan's current parish. She was an amazing woman of faith and inspiration to all who knew her. Her warm heart and generous spirit always guided her to help those around her.
Joan was known for her quick-wit, being a storyteller, and her classy fashion style. She was an avid reader and absolutely loved the beach and the joy it brought. She was a master decorator and thoroughly enjoyed making sure the house was aptly decorated for each season, most especially her favorite Christmas holiday.
Joan was affectionately known as Mrs. C. to many and was mom to all. Whether she was needed to drive someone to a practice, patch up a wound, or give motherly advice, she was always there for anyone who needed her.
Joan will be remembered by how she could light up any room. She was truly a remarkable woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 am., followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am., at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19454. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery.
