Gennaro Manna of Horsham passed away peacefully May 15, 2013. He was 98. He was known as George, Jerry, Gene, Gennaro, Gennarino, and Grandpop. However, if you just said Pop, everybody knew who you were referring to. Pop was born January 28, 1915 in the Italian village of Bungara. He immigrated to Venezuela in 1947 after serving for Italy in WWII. While living in Venezuela, he supported his family in Italy until they could all be together in the United States in 1958. He retired in 1980 as a member of the carpenters' union. However, he was also an accomplished stone mason and would continue working well into his 80"s just to keep busy. He often could be found in his basement workshop, his large vegetable garden, or his wine cellar. You could not leave his house without a bucket of fresh vegetables or a bottle of homemade wine. However, what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. His kitchen table was a gathering point for all. You could always find good food and drink and great conversation. We will all miss this the most. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pasquelina. He is survived by his son Antonio (Gilda), and daughter Maria Altopiedi , grandchildren Anthony (Liz), Joann (Larry), Steven (Andrea), Frank (Christina), great grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Abby, Christian, Jacqueline, Larry, Samantha, Nickolas. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am. at St. Joseph's Church, corner of Easton and County Line Roads, Warrington, 18976. Entombment Whitemarsh Memorial Park. There will be a viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 am., at the Church. Donations in his memory can be made to St Joseph's church in Warrington PA.
