Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Frank Manfredonia, 91, our loving and devoted, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to all whose lives he touched. Frank of Devon, PA passed away peacefully in the hospital during the early morning hours of March 23, 2023 after a long battle with heart disease.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Gaetano ( Tom) and Louise (nee DiFogia); and his former wife, Marie Manfredonia (nee Quirus). He is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Jutta Goss Manfredonia; his children, Lisa ( Mike) McGee and Kristine Wolfington; his stepchildren, Dan (Lois) Goss, Ursula ( Ron), Kristin Ficklin, Monika (Troy) Rector and Daryl (Nicole) Goss and the joys of his life, collectively, his 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Born December 16, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Olney High School and then joined the military. He was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ during the Korean War. He did get an apprentice job at a roofing company in Philadelphia at George H Duross, Inc learned the roofing business from the bottom to top and knew it inside and out. By the 1960's he was President and owner and made this company along with" key" employees become the largest commercial roofing company in the tri state area. He partnered with Local 30 B TO GET THE JOB DONE. His company's work can be seen across the buildings in Center City Philadelphia including Liberty 1. He was on many boards and was honored as "MAN OF THE YEAR" in 1977 by the Boys Town of Italy at the Union League.

An avid basketball player during his time in the service and thereafter, Frank took pride in his physical appearance and worked hard to remain in "playing shape" his whole life. He also enjoyed his time on the beach in Avalon, NJ and travel but most of all enjoyed playing "host" by bringing groups of people together to enjoy each other's company. At one point in time he was offered the chance to purchase a minority stake in the Philadelphia Phillies, an offer he regretfully turned down. "Pop Pop was full of energy and loved to reminisce on his past which brought together his professional and personal life together.

In his final days he was able to gather with most of his family and thankfully remained in great spirits and full of energy. In fact, he was quoted as saying, I'M JUST FINE, a testament to his optimistic viewpoint on life.
