Florence
Bruno
Jul 19, 1922 — Jan 4, 2024
Florence Bruno was born in Quakertown on July 19, 1922. She was raised on her family farm. She peacefully passed away at the age of 101 on January 4, 2024, surrounded by her family. Florence was a very healthy centenarian and fell ill a few short weeks prior to her death.
Florence met the love of her life Joe at a dance in Perkasie, and they were married on January 1, 1944. After starting their life together in King of Prussia, they settled in Plymouth Meeting, raising their two daughters Sharon and Barbara.
Florence worked at Markel Corporation until she retired in her 60s. Her pastimes include watching sports: Phillies, Eagles, and the Sixers. She rarely missed attending sporting events, including little league, or school sporting for her grandchilden and great-grandchildren. She was a super proud mom and grandmom and loved being with family.
Florence was an avid 500 Rummy Player; her favorite partners were Andy and her great-grandchildren. Florence was often cooking and baking especially for birthdays and holidays. Her meatballs and chocolate cake were simply the best. Florence was also well known at "her gym" by the local pickleball players. She would walk around each morning while they would play and greet her.
There are many things she was proud of, but one accolade that Florence was very excited about was having been awarded her Honorary Diploma from Quakertown High School. She could not graduate with her class due to family matters. She would say that Diploma was one of her biggest accomplishments. She displayed her diploma for all to see.
Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph, her beloved brothers & sister's in law: Nick (Clelia), Al (Anna), Tony (Rita), Pat (Gloria), Joe (Emma), and Gigi (Armeda), her beloved grandson (Tony) and many many friends.
Florence is survived by her daughters Sharon, and Barbara (Chris), her grandchildren Michele (Andy), Joe (Ana), and Stephanie, and her great-grandchildren, Delanie, Brie, Drew, Mina, Jack, Noah, and Theo.
