Edith (Edie) Nardi Phillips, a resident of Spring House Estates, formerly of Oreland, PA, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Daughter of the late Bernardino and Anna (nee Mattioli) Nardi of Narberth, PA. Former wife of the late Louis Phillips. A graduate of Lower Merion High School, employed by Verizon (formerly Bell Telephone of PA) for 38 years, retiring in 1992. She was a President and active member of the Verizon Telephone Pioneers of America, Liberty Bell Chapter. A woman of strength and compassion, Edie found great joy participating in the Pioneer volunteer programs at the Ronald McDonald and Carousel Houses and used her crafting talents for many Pioneer sponsored projects. An avid game player, she delighted in playing cards, dominoes, Scrabble or Bingo with her many friends. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lou Ann P. Carroll and her husband Jack of Maple Glen, PA, her son Stephen and his wife Diane of Philadelphia and her beloved granddaughter Lauren A. Carroll. She is also survived by her sister Antoinette DeSimone of West Chester, PA, her brother John A. Nardi and his wife Diane (Bunny) of Narberth, PA as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday January 18, 2013 starting at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Holy Martyrs Church, Ulmer & Allison Roads Oreland, PA. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. A celebration of her life will take place at Spring House Estates on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 am.
