David J.
Ventresca
Sep 8, 1941 — Apr 3, 2026
David Ventresca of Montgomeryville PA, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family at the age of 84.
Born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia (St. Benedict's parish), he was a member of the first graduating class of Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1959. David was the dutiful son of David and Assunta (nee: Pilotta) and the eldest of four siblings, including Joe (Joanna) and Maria Anderson (Chris). He was also predeceased by his younger brother, Samuel.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Carol (nee Diletto), and two children, Lynda D'Angelo and David. He was a loving "PopPop" to his four grandchildren: Gina D'Angelo, Victoria Glennan (John), Nicholas D'Angelo, and Sophia D'Angelo, as well as his two great-grandsons, Lucas Glennan and Hudson David Glennan.
David built a successful career in retail sales over several decades to provide for his family. Earlier in his life, with his saxophone in hand, he toured up and down the East Coast with several different musical acts. He was passionate about golf, despite being kept awake at night with the thoughts of missed short putts. He took great pleasure in flying kites and riding his bike down the Jersey shore. He enjoyed watching the Eagles and the Phillies and could be overheard arguing balls and strikes with the umpires on TV. For many years, he was a loyal parishioner at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church of North Wales, where he frequently volunteered as an usher during Sunday Mass. However, more than anything else, he loved spending time with his family, especially during holiday meals. Upon retirement, his greatest joy came from filling his schedule with his grandchildren's baseball, basketball, and rugby games, dance recitals, cheerleading competitions, cross-country meets, and theater performances. He was an enthusiastic fan and all of the other parents and teammates knew "PopPop" Ventresca.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church of North Wales, 1325 Upper State Road, on Friday April 10, 2026 at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am . Internment to follow at Pine Grove Memorial Park and Cemetery on County Line Road in Warminster.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in David's memory to Beyond Sunday at the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, PO Box 438, Oreland PA, 19075. Please make checks payable to "CAMM"
