Connell J. McGeehan, age 86, of Blue Bell, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital.

Connell was born on January 14, 1940, in the Swampoodle section of North Philadelphia. He attended Corpus Christi Grade School and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1957, where he was the youngest member of his graduating class. Like many young men of his generation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Following his honorable discharge, Con began his career in public service with the Philadelphia Police Department. Taking advantage of the GI Bill, he continued his education at Saint Joseph's University, earning a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees.

His career in federal law enforcement took him around the world. In 1968, he was sent to Vietnam as a federal agent and advisor during the war. Upon returning to the United States, he joined the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), serving in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Fluent in Thai, he was later assigned to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where he served as a Special Agent specializing in Southeast Asian affairs.

His distinguished career continued with assignments in New York, Portland, and Allentown. He retired in 1997 as Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Allentown office. Never one to remain idle, Con subsequently established his own private security business, which he operated for the remainder of his life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Con was deeply proud of his Irish heritage. His father was born in Fintown, County Donegal, and was a native Irish speaker. His maternal grandparents were born in Kilkelly, County Mayo. Con embraced his roots and maintained a lifelong connection to his Irish ancestry through his involvement in numerous Irish organizations and associations.

He was also an active member of the Elks, American Legion, Association of Retired DEA Agents, Knights of Columbus, Roman Catholic High School Alumni Association, and many other organizations.

Con was the cherished son of the late Neil and Mary McGeehan (nee Conway) and the beloved husband of the late Jane Anne (nee Lyons). He was the loving brother of James (the late Helen) McGeehan, Neil (Christine) McGeehan, Eileen (John) Tuffy, Sheila (the late John) Zanine, Patricia (the late Lee) Meringo, and Kathleen (Jay) Dennis.

He was a devoted and most loving uncle to John (Crystel) Tuffy, Dennis (Catherine) McGeehan, James (Erin) McGeehan, Vincent (Karen) McGeehan, Patti-Lee Meringo, and the late Christopher McGeehan. His love for his family was immeasurable, and his presence in their lives was a constant source of comfort, guidance, and strength.

Con was a man of extraordinary integrity who believed that his word was his bond. He was loving, exceptionally generous, humble, and steadfast in his devotion to those he loved. He was the rock and patriarch of our family, providing an unwavering source of strength, stability, security, and dependability.

His motto was "Family First," and he lived those words every day. He was always the first to show up, whether in times of celebration or in moments of hardship. His family never had to wonder if he would be there; they simply knew he would be. He was also a true and loyal friend to people of all generations and backgrounds, with some friendships spanning an extraordinary 80 years. The impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him will never be forgotten.

As a family, we find comfort in knowing that Con has been reunited with our parents, Neil and Mary McGeehan, his beloved wife, Janie, his nephew, Christopher McGeehan and his brother-in-law and close friend, Lee Meringo. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, his example of loyalty, generosity, humility, and unconditional love will remain with us always.

Family was everything to Con, and his greatest legacy is the family he loved so dearly. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:50 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
