Aurelia M.
Mcaleese
Oct 2, 1930 — Feb 5, 2023
Aurelia McAleese (nee Morris), 92, passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2023 after a long life full of love. Aurelia ("Real" to most) was born October 2, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, raised three children in Philly, and spent her later years in Warminster, PA with her her loving husband, Bob.
Aurelia was a trailblazer – ahead of her time in feminism and in fearlessness – gallivanting through Europe with her friend in midlife as an independent woman, managing finances for the family, and advocating for human rights with every vote and donation.
A lifelong learner, she pursued secretary school and a long career, loved history and animal documentaries, and, at 90 years old, was better at social media stalking than most modern teens. She loved travel, penny slots at the casino, and her family through every stage of her life.
Impeccably dressed and always ready to impress, Real was never without her hair curled, blush on, and jewelry to match a well-curated outfit. She was a dedicated and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, a loyal friend, and could always be counted on to share her dessert with the dogs of the family — and to partake in her human tablemate's selected entree.
Real will be remembered for her strong personality, firecracker wit, and generosity.
Aurelia was preceded in death by her parents, Romayne and Nelson, siblings, Donald and Dale, and son Robbie. She is survived by her husband, daughter Sue (Bill) Custren, son John, and grandchildren Marissa, Greg, and Danny, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation on Saturday from 11:00 am. to 12:00 pm., followed by her Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at the ANGELONE FUNERAL HOME, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the D.A.R.E. America, PO Box 512090, Los Angeles, CA 90051. http://www.dare.org or the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016. http://www.kidney.org
