Obituary

Ann D. Watt Thomas was born in Abbeville South Carolina on Friday, May 29, 1925 to Henry and Louise Callahan Watt. She received her formal education in the Abbeville School System. She later moved with her family up north to Philadelphia, PA. There she developed her trade and worked in the sewing industry. She left her trade to work for John M. Taxin, owner of the famous "Book Binders Restaurant," to nurture his children as their Nanny.

Ann had a great sense of humor and a lively personality. She enjoyed people and went to many social events. In 1957, she caught the eye of the handsome retired Marine Veteran, Donald Thomas at the VPA Club in North Philadelphia. This Blessing from GOD marked the beginning of "Endless Love!" After several years of courtship, they married on December 25, 1964.

Ann was " Elegant and Classy! " She loved to shop and was always in style with the latest fashion. Her first car was a Cadillac and her last was a Lexus! She traveled across the country and abroad, but her favorite place was Hawaii.  Don knew he had a Queen and doted on her. Ann enjoyed life with her beloved "Don," totally focused on their marriage and giving all her love, devotion and support throughout his stellar career in the Philadelphia Police Department, where he retired after 48 years of service at the rank of Inspector.

Ann was raised a child of GOD. Ann's transition into a woman of GOD was seamless. In the mid 1980's Don and Ann joined the St. Raymond of Penafort Roman Catholic Church. She was an active member until the Lord slowed her down then finally called her home to Glory on October 25, 2017. AMEN!

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Lillie Mae Watt Dunn, Margie Watt Marshall, Claude Watt Sr. and Ella Watt; in-laws, Loretta Mae Tinsley and Richard Thomas; nieces and nephews, Ernestine Dunn Johnson, Alfreda Dunn Armstrong, Stanley Dunn, Claude Watt Jr., Anson Thomas, Darlene Tinsley and Dewight Tinsley and dear friends Sylvia Guillory-Neal and Honorable Frank "Uncle Rizzy" Rizzo. She was a lover of animals who had many canine companions throughout the years ending with Dax 1 and Dax 2.

Ann leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Don; in-laws, Erma Jean Thomas and Calvin Reid Jr.; nieces and nephews, Joan Marshall Wesley, Virginia Marshall, Mary Marshall Makin, Betty Marshall Crawford, Clarence Henry Marshall, Margie Marshall Hutto, James Harvey Johnson, Ernie Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Denise Johnson and Celestine Johnson Brown of the Callahan-Watt lineage; Denise "Neicie" Arrington, Lori Thomas, Misti Thomas, Danielle Thomas, Stephanie Tinsley, Portland Tinsley-Biddings, Tewanna Tinsley of the Thomas lineage; and a large number of grands and great-grand nieces and nephews in the Callahan-Watt and Thomas lineages; god-daughter, Christin Adams and god-son, Eric Scott; and dear friends, Lena Adams, Deborah "Debbie" Feldman, Warren Savin, Sid Booker, Kim O'Connor and Frank and Arletha Costner and a host of friends, family and neighbors.

Lovingly Submitted, The Family
