Obituary

Alfred J. Quasti Jr., age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. He was born October 11, 1961 in Bristol, PA to Margaret "Peg" Quasti (nee: Horan) and Alfred J. Quasti Sr.

A Philadelphia native, Al attended Archbishop Ryan High School where he played baseball and soccer. He went on to attend Ursinus College on a Presidential Scholarship where he played soccer for 4 years and was a member and officer of Sigma Rho Lambda. After graduating Ursinus in 1983, Al attended the Delaware Law School of Widener University where he served as an editor on the school's law review, The Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. There he met the love of his life, Lisa. After graduating law school in 1986, Al and Lisa began their legal careers, were engaged in 1987, and married on May 7, 1988. They welcomed their sons Christopher and Kevin in 1995 and 2000. It was evident to all who knew Al that his boys were the pride and joy of his life.

From 1996 to 2002, Al served as a managing shareholder of Lally, Holtzman, Gilligan & Quasti P.C. In 2002, he started his own practice, The Law Offices of Alfred J. Quasti Jr. During those years Al also dedicated himself to coaching his sons' Montgomery Township and CYO baseball teams and Montgomery United and Ukrainian Nationals soccer teams. He also served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Montgomery Township Park and Recreation Board. Al's love for giving back was also evident in his participation in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60-mile walk in Philadelphia for 4 consecutive years in honor of his father, Al, and mother-in-law, Mary. Since 2011, Al served as a trial attorney at the Law Offices of Thomas J. Wagner, LLC, in Philadelphia.

Al had many friends, several of whom he referred to as "brother," and he loved recounting stories of memorable times spent together golfing, fishing, coaching (especially his beloved Montgomery Aliens) or just enjoying conversation and a glass of wine. He also loved traveling with Lisa to Manchester, VT, Kent Island, MD, Chappaqua, NY, and Lake George, NY, where he vacationed with his family growing up. Al appreciated the beauty and peace of the mountains and lakes.

Al will be most remembered for his sense of humor, his dedication to and love for his family, his competitive spirit, and for the impact he made on so many young boys and men through his years of coaching.

Al is preceded in death by his father, Alfred J. Quasti Sr., his father-in-law, Aniello "Nino" Abbandonato, and his mother-in-law, Mary Abbandonato. He is survived by his wife, Lisa A. Quasti (nee: Abbandonato); sons, Christopher James Quasti and Kevin Marc Quasti; mother, Margaret "Peg" Quasti (nee: Horan); sister, Kathleen Quasti-Schmitz (Jim); sister-in-law Anne Marie Stefany (nee: Abbandonato) (John); brother-in-law Marc Abbandonato; and his nieces Lisa A. Stefany and Brianna N. Stefany (Dillon Smith).
